Divine Beings

Ancient legends tell of gods who come to Earth and take on human form. But does that statement not describe us all? What are you and I if not divine beings who have taken temporary shape as people upon Planet Earth, and who will one day return to the heavenly realm? And if, as is surely true, we are deities, why do we not recognize and respect this in one another?

In the Vedic culture there is a greeting or salutation that does just that… recognizes the “Divinity” in one another. One would greet another by saying “Namaste”.

I joke with my young friend in Jamaica, when I’m trying to emulate some of the speech of a Rastafarian. What makes that funny is besides the fact that I’m a middle-aged white dude… who normally sounds nothing like them. Anyway, the point about the Rastas is, that quite often you’ll hear a term in their speech that recognizes “we are not alone” in this world… we’re connected. So, in my best “Rasta”, I ramble on saying… “I and I be going”… That’s the recognition of the Spirit  ”I and I”…acknowledging that wherever we go, Spirit and the connectedness of  being ONE

We seem to be strongly of one mind or the other… that is we either believe, or do not, the idea that all human beings are gods and goddesses who have temporarily taken on physical form. But, if that is so, why do we have so many limitations and imperfections? It is easy to say, ‘Because otherwise we would have nothing to learn or to be challenged by.’ Perhaps we very much enjoy and benefit from an easy life. You should, at some point, at least entertain the idea that you deserve more from the stress and strife that life lately seems to have put you through.

That’s when you could take advantage of a Golden Opportunity to make concrete changes in your life. But willpower is often not enough. You need something that goes beyond the physical level…. like the Quantum Mind Program

What is Life?

I‘ve had this tune from the early 80′s  rollin’ around my “world” for the last couple of weeks. It’s been in my head… in my car, on my computer, my smartphone. It’s a reggae tune, done by a Jamaican band called “Black Uhuru”. It was the combination of the driving rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare that made the music work at the time… and it still sounds great all these years later. (btw… If you like reggae and by some strange chance you haven’t heard it, it’s a really cool tune – here’s a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg9SYIkwzNg)

But it’s the lyrics behind the music that kept it spinning in my world… it’s called

“What is Life?”

What is life? Life is a spell
What is life? No one can tell
What is life? I try to see
What is life? It’s looking bleak

They control the treasure of our birthright
And to survive we have to struggle and fight
The present confrontation of our mind
The flexibility of our vision

What is life? I try to see
What is life? It’s unity
What is life? I try to feel
What is life? It’s really real

Everyone say they are not excited
While our vineyard exploited
African woman hold me close to you
Help me to find don’t get separated

What is life? Life is a treat
What is life? Nothing but cheat
What is life? Life is a test
What is life? Some man Jah bless

They control the pleasure of our birthright
And to survive we have to struggle and fight
The present confrontation of our mind
The flexibility of our vision

I‘m not about to dispute the author’s words, because that’s HIS experience! However, what I DO BELIEVE is that in every moment, we are creating that experience… good, bad, or indifferent.

We face all kinds of lessons throughout our lifetime and how we respond to them will dictate the existence we have. We can have struggle and strife… and think God, or the Universe “has it in for us”. We could also look upon whatever we’ve just experienced as a lesson from the universe to be understood.

How do you tell the difference? How can you change your perceptions? You’ve probably tried a couple of techniques, or programs and still not achieved the success you’d hoped for.

There is ANOTHER Way!

What is Life?

I have had the extreme good fortune to have a teacher, Dr. Pillai, to guide me in my life, to answer those eternal questions. Someone who goes beyond religion and dogma… someone authentic who embraces science and theology. He is both a scholar and a mystic. He has been in academia and taught at the university level (PhD and 2 Masters). He has taught meditation for over 2 decades… bringing positive change into the lives of thousand upon thousands of students… from every walk of life, worldwide.

What is Life?

He consulted with the Super-Rich and has established, developed and operates successful businesses of his own.  He is the author of several books and has been invited to speak on international spiritual symposiums.

All of His efforts are focussed on improving life for everyone on the planet. He supports his dedication to the evolution of humanity, through his charitable organization… Tripura Foundation.

And NOW… He has brought forward some of the most precious, timeless teachings to share with the world in a way which addresses the needs and concerns of our modern society.

What is Life?

The QUANTUM Mind Program is Dr. Baskaran Pillai‘s gift to humanity. It is a year long program that consists of three distinct levels of participation. It employs the ancient wisdom of Patanjali ( of which Dr. Pillai  has intimate knowledge and consummate understanding) applied with the esoteric sounds of  Dr. Pillai‘s unique Mind Science Technology.

The QUANTUM Mind Program will not only answer those questions about life, but will powerfully equip you with the tools you need to radically change your life. It will take you into a life… not of  suffering and disappointment… but one of your own design.

Blog Mastery Award

‘Blog Mastery Award’ was recently  started byBelinda Cunningham.

The concept is to choose 10 blogs that you feel have mastered blogging and have great content, then  nominate them to receive the award. The recepients then write a post about receiving the award and go on to pay it forward by nominating 10 more blogs that they feel deserve recognition for a great effort .

First I’d like to thank Toni King for nominating my blog… and suggest you  have a look at the others who made her list!

It’s always means more to me when my work is appreciated by a peer… (so thanks Toni). I’d like to suggest that you mosey on over and have a look at what Toni has posted on her site… there’s always something interesting to read and ponder!

There are so many good blogs out there… The thing that I have enjoyed the most about the blogs are the people behind them. It really is a case of wysiwyg… authentic, real people who care. They care about their readers, but what comes through in their blogs is they also care about people they haven’t even met yet… they care about You, Me and our little blue planet.

I read so many varied and interesting blogs in the course of a normal week, it’s hard to name only 10 for recognition because most of them deserve it but I’ll endeavour to narrow it down… in no particular order because they are ALL so good!

Now on to… MY LIST OF NOMINEES :

Can You Go Back to ‘Square One’ ?

CAN YOU GO BACK TO SQUARE ONE?

STARTING OVER

People make mistakes. Of course, this statement is no big revelation. Life is all about learning, and sometimes, you do learn the hard way. While you can’t erase the past, you may feel the need to start fresh. There are so many who believe that you simply can’t turn back the clock and live a new kind of life. But the truth is, many have made wonderful changes. The most important thing is that you be brave about it.

A fresh start sometimes means that you pave the way for a calmer routine. Knowing that you want a change is easy, but knowing where to start is another thing altogether. It needs careful planning. You just can’t jump onboard and take too much too soon. With baby steps, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Whether it’s de-cluttering your life or making time for your loved ones, you can finally make a decision that you can stick to until the very end. You have your future at the palm of your hand and it is your job to set things right.

TAKE A CALCULATED RISK

Sometimes, you need to shake things up a bit and take risks. Though figuring out what to change is difficult. When you don’t know what to do, you are left frustrated, restless, and annoyed. Then you wonder how come you don’t know what to change. First, you have to realize that desires can be muddled by concern for the feelings of other people. You are afraid of the consequences of your actions. Nonetheless, you need mental acuity to be able to pinpoint your goals. Take a step back and write down your emotions, worries, desires, and goals. This is a good way to clear your head, confront the things you are most afraid of, and secure a deeper level of commitment.

Take a look at your life from different perspectives so you know where to begin. It helps to know how you feel about each area of your life. Make a wish list if you must and then decide how you are able to prioritize each goal. This is basically a way to organize your list. Once you’ve mulled over things, it’s time to plan out your action. Set goals so you can focus on what you want to achieve.

FINE-TUNE YOUR PLAN

A plan is an effective way to make a map. Fine-tune your goals by giving them a winning edge. It is important to be specific, measurable, and of course, realistic. You can first focus your attention on one task so that things don’t become too much to handle. When you need to fulfill too many things at one time, you won’t perfect a craft. You become a jack of all traits but a master at one. That’s why, learn to say no to those who demand too much of you. Then, take a moment every now and then to stop and listen to your body. It’s time to try something new and discover your other skills. Carpe diem! Stop whining over past failures and see how you can fashion a better future.
