4 Keys To Enjoying Your Job and Your Life

Pursuing a career doesn’t mean having to choose your job over your life. If you know how to strike a balance between work and your personal life, then you won’t have to pick one over the other. To be your best in both, however, it’s advisable to develop a system that works for you.

TIME MANAGEMENT

Your ability to manage time is really one of the top two causes of success or failure in your life. What can you do to pave your way to success? Start a commitment notebook for your tasks. This way, it becomes easier to track your to-do lists and deadlines. Plus, you can even log in your personal goals you can incorporate into your work schedule, like a fitness regimen you’ve been dying to try for instance.

When you see your tasks laid out like that, balancing a fabulous life and a stellar career will be a breeze. It helps to define the importance of the different aspects of your life so that you know what you can focus on. A true successful individual will keep doing things that matter.

DEALING WITH STRESS

Of course, you will encounter stress along the way. Say no to stress-eating. Sit up straight at all times because slouching decreases your body’s oxygen intake, which eventually drains you of energy. Moreover, poor posture makes you develop chronic back and neck pains. Deal whatever it is you’re faced with by holding your head high. Flexibility and multitasking are things successful people do because of either socialization or nature.

Personally, I have modified my own view of multitasking recently, simply because of effectiveness, or lack thereof. I found that I was not following through completely on the task at hand, if I was trying to accomplish several at one time. You’ll have to see what works for you, based on your own needs.

LAUGHTER… IS THE BEST MEDICINE

More importantly, know the value of laughter. This is a foolproof stress buster. Sharing your humour with others eases up any awkwardness or pressure brought on by work. Say something silly or crack a joke because sillier can sometimes be better. If you’re not comfortable delivering one face-to-face, send it via email. To avoid blurting out inappropriate remarks, talk with your friends and colleagues. You will soon get to know them well enough to understand which things they’re not comfortable talking about or making fun of.

FINDING YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE

You have to know that you have a purpose in life. Working towards this purpose at a gradual but steady pace will keep you hopeful even during your darkest moments. Take things lightly but have a sense of responsibility. This should keep your smile on despite difficulties. It is innate in a person to know what their purpose is; they just need time to soul search and realize what needs to be done. When you follow what you have been meant to do, you will live in harmony with the rest of the world.

The balance you are seeking should already be found within. It just needs to be rediscovered and unearthed. Embrace what you have right now and celebrate what is yet to come. Remember, you are all capable of great things. Fear limits what you can achieve and you must remove this from your heart. Remember, your psyche knows no boundaries, so live a little but always remember that you also have to be responsible about the things you do.

Yoga… for Your Bank Account

“How’s that?” you ask.

TROY SPRINGER YOGA Bancroft, Ontario

Well… yoga actually means “the union of body and mind.”

When the two are in harmony, you will have easier access to that part of the mind which is flowing with creative ideas. This can produce any number of projects, programs and possibilities. All of which… can make you money!

You might be surprised to find out which top internet marketers practice yoga regularly!

It’s about a lifestyle change… living more and working less. It starts with a change of mindset.  Let me give you a little background about the origins of yoga first.

Yoga Body/Mind

Yoga is meant to be a means to enlightenment.  This belief has been an integral element in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism which are primarily spiritual traditions founded in India.  The different physical postures are developed in an effort to unite the body as one.

Yoga is a series of postures or poses that are done fluidly and steadily while controlling breathing. It is essentially a low-impact exercise that is invigorating yet relaxing, as it also encompasses some meditation. Yoga is about strength and flexibility, not just about stretching, however, stretching and ‘reaching’ is definitely a part of yoga.

Anyone can do yoga, from babies to seniors and of all lifestyles. Practicing yoga is different for each person and the best thing about it is that you can tailor it to suit your needs and activity level.

Styles of Yoga

There are different styles of yoga, all of which utilize essentially the same poses but with different emphasis. The styles of yoga which are most commonly known are:

TROY SPRINGER YOGA - Bancroft, Ontario

  • Hatha
  • Vinyasa
  • Ashtanga
  • Power Yoga
  • Iyengar
  • Kundalini
  • Bikram (or Hot Yoga)
  • Anusara
  • Jivamukti
  • Forrest
  • Integral
  • Sivananda.

Benefits of Yoga

Regardless of the style of yoga you choose to practice, there is an underlying state of being to all of yoga – balance, relaxation, flexibility and strength. This also integrates spiritual well being and meditation. Each style of yoga focuses more on one aspect, whether that is physical, breathing or spiritual. All yoga practices are good for your health… it’s more a matter of personal taste as to which style is right for you.

  • Yoga helps with the flexibility of the body.  Meditating requires sitting in the same position for as little as 10 minutes to as much as 100 minutes. The increased flexibility resulting from doing yoga postures helps to make this inactivity as comfortable as possible.
  • Yoga will increase energy for use during meditation because it allows the body to relax and prepare for the meditation.
  • Yoga helps with becoming aware of our joints and different body parts especially the muscles… which then leads to being mindful.  Mindfulness is important to meditation and in self realization… and to any business you may be conducting.
  • Meditation is supposed to help understand our own minds and assist in turning negative things into those which are positive. When you can turn something positive in to a creative idea… possibilities begin to flow.

  • Assists with the relaxation and calmness throughout the mind and body… allows us to slow down our emotions.
  • Yoga lowers your blood pressure and brings your brain waves into a deeper, more receptive state.
  • Yoga will enhance your meditation experience.

Your yoga practice is exactly that…yours. It’s personalized to you. Only you can do it and you definitely will get something different out of yoga than other people will. Yoga grows with you as you get to understand it better. You will find each position means more to you each time you try it.

The more adept you become in your yoga practice, the more you will be able to meditate, calm your mind and laser-focus on manifesting some creative ideas. This is why I maintain – Yoga will be good for you and… for your bank account!

How to Get Healthy and Profit from It! (Part 2)

I’ve heard it referenced by nutritionists, and other experts in physiology, that our diet not only plays a HUGE factor in our appearance, but in our overall physical and mental health as well.  OMG… I thought I just saw the Pillsbury Doughboy looking back at me in the mirror… waving! LOL!

No, seriously…it’s a lifestyle choice! I just woke up to that! In my present state, having a health challenge (in “about Chris”), the sugar consumption can’t be beneficial. However, when rationalized that it (the sugar) is pleasurable, versus the health challenge which is not, it often makes for an easy choice. Not exactly an enlightened choice though is it?

We need to  become real “masters” in the traditional sense. Masters of our emotions… masters of our own minds/bodies. This seemingly impossible task can be broken down… one step at a time, one day at a time.

(I also have a very strong, distinct impression that my Mother’s death last year at 84 was directly related to her diet. She was overweight, high blood pressure…  had a seizure…  later a heavy-duty, paralyzing stroke…  culminating in her death 20-some months  afterwards.)

So… find your motivation…whatever it may be and get started… get healthy and profit from it!  I’m inviting you to join me in getting healthy. Do it at your own pace… but remember - Nothing else matters if you don’t have your HEALTH!

As I make witness to the world , I am publicly stating my need, desire and promise to myself… to turn my health issues around. I’m embarking on a 12-week transformation program to radically change my physical body. As the body clears, morphs and transforms, so too will the mind… and everything else will follow!

Click on the following link  bodybuilding.com for  resources. Included is a library of videos from world-class trainers with hundreds of successful results, providing helpful training plans and nutritional information… all at no cost… from so

I could use your help, your pointers and your encouragement to make this successful. Please leave your comments, below.  I won’t embarrass myself right now…  with my “Fat Elvis” pictures …but come April 25, 2010 – at the end of the 12-week transformation program – as a moth from inside the cocoon… transformation will bring a beautiful new being into existence!

How to Get Healthy and Profit from It! (part 1)

Today, I’ve had an epiphany …and with that came an inspiration… “How to get healthy and profit from it.“  Today is the day that life begins with a new resolve to get healthy… and I invite you along to witness, and perhaps join me as I begin the journey on my personal transformation.

White Sugar… it kills you, literally burns you up!

I’m not preach’n here… I’m in the choir! I’ve known how bad it is - sugar - but have continued without abeyance… one cookie at a time! I’ve been living with a sugar addiction and I believe it has affected my life, much more than I ever could have expected. This is personal… and hits home.

I’ve finally reached a threshold in my life where I must take action… and I’d like to encourage anyone who resonates with this, to see for themselves just how much you’ll personally profit from as a result of “getting healthy”.

I have heard it said that “if you want to be ‘at the top of your game‘ – in every sense of the word – you have to look after your health…” something I didn’t pay much attention to, even though I was sick.

Now, I have to! So, let’s start here… that refined white sugar that goes in your double-double coffee… is “white death!” How about just changing it up a bit, to start?  Try using “Stevia”, a naturally occurring, organic sugar substitute… and while you’re at it, try a single shot of cream, or low -fat milk in the coffee. One step at a time!

You know, the world gets busy and we can get caught up in it so many ways. We get too rushed to stop and have a relaxing meal. Instead, under pressure of deadlines, or just being too busy or tired to cook a nutritious meal, we find ourselves going through the “In-and-Out Burger”, scorfing down a double-patty something-or-other, a medium fries (I restrained myself…lol!) and wash it down with a large soda.

Now, that doesn’t seem too far out of whack, since the whole neighborhood is also there… but think about it? You probably just consumed about 50-75% of your daily caloric intake in a single meal.

Incredible… and yet we think nothing of it! I know I didn`t!

But then, later in life the physical space that we occupy… this “meat” body… starts to break down and we begin to question… why? You’ve most certainly heard the phrase… you are what you eat?  How much more productive and efficient, clear-headed, sharp and mentally focused could we be (which effectively translates in to profitable)… if we ate right?
