Kimberly and The WF

It’s always helpful to have a good resource that you can count on. I was just over on the Warrior Forum and man… with all the offerings and information, it’s like being a kid at his birthday party… you just don’t know where to start!

Kimberly Castleberry just-ask-kim.com

My friend, Kimberly Castleberry just happened to be including a discussion of the Warrior Forum in her post “Do You WF?” on her blog today… www.just-ask-kim.com . This gal always has the current edge on social media and technology in her writings.

If you’re wondering how to do something a little “techy”… and don’t want to dig through all the bullshit, fillers and offers that tend to be on some of the other blogs out there, check her out. Lots of useful information presented in an easy-to-understand format…and in a way that might often bring a smile to your face.

Kimberly tends to stick up for the “small guy”. If she senses something out there in the world of internet marketing, whether it’s tech-related, or some guru that’s a little “off-center”, I’ve found that Kimberly will often times call out the issue she feels is perhaps not represented as it should be and works to set the record straight.

Here, we have a marketer, who is also tech-savvy. So it’s not likely that somebody’s pitch is going to baffle her with bullshit. …and that makes it better for ALL of us! Why? Because she is passionate about  Internet Marketing …and YOU – the small entrepreneur online trying to make it work.

I have personally found her blog to be a source of not only technical understanding made easy, but also she has pointed the way to some great savings on various products. One example is that through one of her promotional offers, I found the latest Camtasia Studio (Full Edition) for over 60% off regular price. (I paid $119 instead of $300).

It pays to read her blog and follow her advice. Like, as I started off with on this post about the Warriors Forum. Kim is spot-on-the-money when she says that the site is so vast it is a BIG time sink. It is a fantastic resource for just about everything internet-related.

However, the caution she suggests is that You should know what you’re looking for before you go on WF because once you do go on site, there is such a “feast” of information and offers. You could easily become overwhelmed and overstuffed with so many choices and inexpensive purchases that it would take a considerable effort to get through without the benefit of having a goal and an exit plan. Start with just-ask-kim.com and you’ll be good to go!

The Message is the Same, Well Almost

The “gurus” and the GURU

Now, you’d probably be in good company if you were to ask yourself… “What the heck is that Boy talkin’ about?” And who would blame you? “The Message is the Same, Well Almost” doesn’t seem to make sense… and then you add “gurus” and “GURU” ? I’d be first to agree at the outset it does sound a tad baffling… but let me fill in a little bit more and you’ll see what I’m trying to convey.

The GURU is my spiritual teacher, whom I’ve referred to in this blog many times before… Dr. Baskaran Pillai. The small “g” gurus refers to any of a number of EXCEPTIONAL internet marketing entrepreneurs, but in this case I’m speaking specifically about my sponsor in GRN, Mark Hoverson, as well as the savvy

Jodie Thompson and the ubiquitous Mr. Jonathan Budd.

The Message

You might ask what the commonality of their messages could possibly be? While Mark, Jodie and Jonathan’s message is more about commerce, it is how they have introduced some essential tools in their teachings that are fundamental elements of their success… or for that matter, anyone’s success.

Dr. Pillai’s message for this “Quantum Mind” age is showing us how to utilize the wisdom handed down to us from the Sages of ancient India. In theVedas, the ancient texts of India, proclaim the truth, “Yad Bhavam Tad Bhavati” (Sanskrit; You become as you think).

I’ve listened to the messages from the small “g”s… and where  the commonality is lies in the teaching that “we ALL” have this ability within us. That’s not what surprises me. It’s that recently this theme has been more pervasive in the internet marketing industry. These three in particular, I find are actually putting a considerable emphasis in their teaching of how to be a successful internet marketer by suggesting that “going within”  will bring you the resources that will really make the difference.

Service to Others

Jonathan Budd has his “Life Transformation Now” series of programs. Jodie Thompson, as one of Budd’s affiliates on that program, has a monthly “live” support class. This, for me personally, is of more benefit because of the interaction amongst the attendees. There is also an added personal interest that you can really sense that this is not  about money for her. You KNOW she cares! Jodie has a strong focus on “serving” her clients to bring the best out in each of them… something we, as students readily acknowledge.

I am particularly enamored with Mark Hoverson. THIS Guy is a “down-to-earth” SuperSTAR!  Now here is a guy with a family… wife, kids, dog …who earns 7 figures annually. What’s impressive about that is, I believe it was about 24 months ago… He Qualified for FOOD STAMPS!! He’ll tell you that Himself!

“So… he’s got money, so what?”, you say. The thing of it is he’s helping everyone he meets to do the same… and still is humble surrounding it all.

The spiritual truth is a business maxim. Service to others, without thought of reward, will bring you more “gold” than you could imagine. Hook up with Jodie Thompson, Mark Hoverson or Jonathan Budd… and they will show you the “treasure map”.

Blog Mastery Award

‘Blog Mastery Award’ was recently  started byBelinda Cunningham.

The concept is to choose 10 blogs that you feel have mastered blogging and have great content, then  nominate them to receive the award. The recepients then write a post about receiving the award and go on to pay it forward by nominating 10 more blogs that they feel deserve recognition for a great effort .

First I’d like to thank Toni King for nominating my blog… and suggest you  have a look at the others who made her list!

It’s always means more to me when my work is appreciated by a peer… (so thanks Toni). I’d like to suggest that you mosey on over and have a look at what Toni has posted on her site… there’s always something interesting to read and ponder!

There are so many good blogs out there… The thing that I have enjoyed the most about the blogs are the people behind them. It really is a case of wysiwyg… authentic, real people who care. They care about their readers, but what comes through in their blogs is they also care about people they haven’t even met yet… they care about You, Me and our little blue planet.

I read so many varied and interesting blogs in the course of a normal week, it’s hard to name only 10 for recognition because most of them deserve it but I’ll endeavour to narrow it down… in no particular order because they are ALL so good!

Now on to… MY LIST OF NOMINEES :

Build Brand Awareness With New Media

Social networking and new media sites can be powerful tools for building, and maintaining brand awareness when used correctly. It can also help you to build a relationship with your users in a more personal way. Be careful though. If you use new media sites in the wrong ways, you can actually have the opposite effect on your brand.

The number one goal whenever you engage your customers through a new media site like Facebook or Twitter should be to build trust with them. Talk directly to your customers, and engage them in a discussion. As you talk with your customers, they will develop a positive opinion of your actions. Even if they don’t love everything you have to say, they’ll appreciate the fact that you’re talking one-to-one with them.

Frank Ellison is a perfect example of how you can build trust with your customers through social networking, and new media. Ellison works for Comcast, and about two years back, he took it upon himself to set up a twitter account, and start talking directly to Comcast customers who were complaining about Comcast on Twitter. In doing so, Ellison helped to improve Comcast’s image as a company that takes care of its customers.

New media can also be a powerful tool for a company that’s just starting out. If your company is new, or just small, using new media can help you grow your brand in some significant ways. Consider starting a Youtube channel where you show your customers how to use your products, or start a podcast where you answer user’s questions on the show. Keep your content entertaining, honest, and informative, and you’ll begin growing brand awareness quickly.

If you’re thinking of using new media to help build your brand, keep these two things in mind; be honest with your customers, and try to engage them in a conversation. If you try to lie to, or otherwise deceive your customers through new media, sooner or later the truth will come out. Nothing can ever be wiped completely off of the internet, and if your customers find out you’ve been lying to them, they’ll spread their negative views of your brand to everyone they know.

Engaging your customers is just as important as being honest with them. If your Youtube channel is loaded with commercials for your product and nothing else, your customers will ignore it. People don’t use new media sites to be advertised to, they use them to connect with other people. If you give them that sense of connection, they’ll be more likely to pay attention to you and your brand.

Whether your company is large or small, you can use new media to connect with your customers, and build brand awareness. Be clear about your message, be honest with your customers, and engage them in a discussion, and you can make new media work for you.
